Dingle V Dizzy
We’ve had Dizzy for a few months now and we are continually surprised by how different she and Dingle are. I mean I always knew animals had different personalities, but we are still wondering how much of her personality we can attribute to being a kitten and how much will stick when she becomes a little lady. For instance…
Dingle is cool as a cucumber. Boring one might say.
Dizzy cannot be still most of the time.
Dingle has this weird (read annoying) crying habit. When he is in a room and finds himself alone, he starts wailing as though he is in pain. We will yell back…”We are in here.” Usually he keeps crying. But eventually he will come into the room with us, still crying, with his toy mouse in his mouth. He will then plop the mouse down and then plop himself down, at which time he will stop crying. <shrug> We don’t know either…
Dizzy is a stealth little thing who has only recently learned that she can meow. And really, it’s less like a meow and more like the annoying “meeps” of Beaker.
Dingle is pretty unaffected by most anything we do to him. I don’t remember him once even caring that he had to wear a collar, much less trying desperately to get it off.
Dizzy, on the other hand, tried for several hours to remove hers.
Dingle is quite a lover who especially enjoys make out sessions with his father. Tell me this story wouldn’t make it to Jerry Springer…or at least to Dr. Phil.
Dizzy does not allow one to get near her face. Nor does she allow kissing. Except for belly kissing. And then, belly kissing is only permitted when the princess herself rolls on her back, thereby deeming us worthy to kiss her slightly spotted belly. Well, thank you, Ms. Streisand.
All of this might help to explain why Dingle likes to be held like this:
While Dizzy likes to be held like this:
All in all, they are still getting along despite their differences. And despite the proverbial fear of ending up like one’s parents…the kids are truly falling in line the way all of us do. Dingle, like his father, is calm, cool, predictable, pretty smart for a cat, and bursting with love. Dizzy, much like her mother is impulsive, illogical, spastic and choosy with her affection. <Sigh> They grow up so fast.

Cute blog entry. I can’t believe how tiny Dizzy still is. I thought she would be bigger by now.
