Keeping Busy

Once we got back from Atlanta our brains had nearly short circuited.  Now that I work from home, I’m alot more rattled by constant stimulation.  Jim was still feeling a little icky and so we didn’t celebrate his birthday on his actual birthday proper.  We held off until the weekend.  In the meantime, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy around the house.

I made curtains for my craft room and curtains for my office.

I also finished the duvet for the guest room and started on my first roman shade.  I am currently awaiting materials I bought on line to finish it up.  If roman shade #1 is a success, I’ll also make 3 others.  If it is not, I just wasted alot of hours of my life.  C’est la vie, I suppose.

But what I’m most excited to report on, is not by my hand at all, but by Jim’s.  He has transformed his office from a cluttered box with 4 white walls, a desk and a recliner into what might now be my favorite room in the house.  Behold!

Jim and Dizzie hard at work

In summary, I haven’t not been blogging for lack of things to blog about, but for focus on manual labor.  So far, I can’t get a good read on what I think 2010 might be like.  But, I figure, until I do, I’ll keep plugging away at staying busy and hoping for the best.  Stayed tuned for new ways I plan to make friends in 2010, recent craft projects and upcoming adventures in LA.  Oh!  And of course, more updates and misadventures with Dingle and Dizzie.

  1. I love the shelving! Where is it from?

  2. Ikea! As is the desk and the little round table. All matchy, all cheap.

  3. Wow everything is the whole house is looking great!!!!! Ya’ll are working hard. Can’t wait to see it in person!

  4. i’m jealous of grown-up striped walls. been trying to work up some “geometric-wall-painting” courage (and energy), but I continually rationalize that my compass is too small.
Next time ya’ll are in ATL I’d better not hear about it on mel-air!

  5. Super cute curtains :) Jim’s office turned out just like the concept draft – nice!
